Watch out guys 18+ yrs old

Now that congress is a majority Democratic, they've decided to reinstate the draft, making it possible to require males 18 years and older to go serve in the military without much notice...

Today on CBS TV's "Face The Nation" , New York Representative Charles Rangel (D) has stated that he plans to introduce legislation to reinstate conscription also known as a "draft". Rangel cites the reason for bringing the draft to legislation is "deter" politicians from launching further wars.

"There's no question in my mind that this president and this administration would never have invaded Iraq, especially on the flimsy evidence that was presented to the Congress, if indeed we had a draft and members of Congress and the administration thought that their kids from their communities would be placed in harm's way," Rangel said.

While the reasoning may be to stop the war. There's not much support for it, but you never know what could happen.

US Goverment Blocks Liberal Websites

The next step in the wrong direction? The United States goverment has been slowly blocking more and more liberal websites from troops fighting for freedoms like the first amendment over in Iraq. A soldier writes:

It seems that every non-conservative politics website has been blocked by our firewall guys…including your site. The reason it is blocked is because it is a “personal page.” Which means they don’t have a reason to block it … but they want to block it, so they do. This was done recently, just in time for mid-term elections. As I said, it was not only your website, I have gone through lists of liberal sites and most of them are blocked. I’ve also taken the time to go to some conservative sites….none of which are blocked.

Bully Passes the Test

Bully managed to make the grade with the judge in Florida and is being allowed to be sold there. Meanwhile our dear friend Jack claims that the judge "didn't know what he saw"

Judge Ronald Friedman said that violence in the school-based game did not mean it was a nuisance.

The attempt to ban the title was made by lawyer Jack Thompson, a well-known campaigner against what he believes are violent video games.

"There's a lot of violence," Judge Friedman said. "A whole lot. Less than we see on television every night."

Attack of E. Coli

As soon as you thought it was ok to eat those veggies, lettuce has it in for you

A week after the Food and Drug Administration lifted its warning against eating spinach, a Salinas, Calif.-based produce company voluntarily recalled 8,500 cartons of lettuce Sunday after tests found E. coli contamination in the water used for irrigation.

There have been no reported illnesses from consumers of Foxy brand green-leaf lettuce, which was shipped last week by the Nunes Co., one of the United States’ largest vegetable suppliers. It is not known yet if any of the lettuce was tainted with E. Coli.

Is the world getting smaller?

Is the world really getting smaller? While growth trends in America seem to be fine (we've hit 300+mil now), Europe is shrinking. And 1/5 of Japan's nation is over 65...

The U.S. is the fastest-growing industrialized nation in the world, adding about 2.8 million people a year. That’s a little less than 1 percent, but enough to mitigate the kinds of problems facing Japan and many European countries.

Europe, with 728 million people, saw its population shrink by 74,000 since the beginning of the decade, according to the United Nations. By 2050, it is projected to lose a total of 75 million people.
